Ziggy’s Back! Beesley Returns for 2025/26 Season
Streatham Ice Hockey Club are excited to confirm that fan-favourite forward Ziggy Beesley has committed to another season with the RedHawks!
Ziggy, has been a cornerstone of the Streatham offense since joining the club back in 2018, bringing his distinctive blend of speed, skill and work ethic to the ice, consistently contributing to the team’s success over the years.Ziggy played a vital role in last season’s playoff push, tallying an impressive 16 goals and 41 assists.
As the RedHawks gear up for another competitive season, Ziggy’s return bolsters the team’s ambitions for continued success.
On his return Ziggy had the following to say:
“I’m really excited to be signing on for my 8th year with the club. This club has become a second home to me over the years, and what sets it apart is the deep-rooted sense of family that runs through every part of it – from the players and staff to the incredible supporters. It’s always a privilege to pull on the shirt and represent the club. Coach Paynts has put together a highly competitive squad this year, building on the success we’ve had in recent seasons, and I can’t wait to get back on the ice with the boys and push for more. The drive, passion, and unity at this club make it a special place to play, and I’m proud to be a part of that again. See you in September folks”.
Coach Ben Paynter also had the following comment:
“Ziggy for me is key in any success we have had since I have been coaching, he has developed into one of the top centre-men in this division, really added to the offensive side of his game while maintaining his responsible defensive game. He scores big goals for us, kills penalties and battles every time he is on the ice. The boys love him, the supporters love him, management love him, and he is becoming a club legend more each year”.
