Its a triple signing as we welcome Rae, Bradley and Etuazim to the High Road!
Streatham IHC are pleased to announce 3 additions to the roster which include, Dominic Rae, Marcus Bradley & Carl Etuazim
Firstly, with the injury to Danny Milton earlier in the season the Redhawks have leant on the services of Dom Rae as injury cover for the last month. Dom will continue with the Redhawks for the rest of the season supporting Brett Shepherd between the pipes. Dom is no stranger to the High Road having spent his junior career with Streatham before a season in Canada followed by a season with the Chelmsford Chieftains.
Dom commented the following,
“I’m really excited to be signing with the RedHawks. I played my junior hockey here, so coming back and being on the High Road again feels great. I’ve really enjoyed training with the boys over the last couple of months, and the atmosphere the High Road brings is incredible. I’m looking forward to the rest of the season and doing everything we can to bring home some more silverware”
Coach Ben Paynter commented,
“Dom is a great lad and was more than happy to help us out in the short term when Milts got hurt. With no clear return date for Milts, it was the perfect fit to keep Dom with us for the rest of the season. He works hard in practice, wants to compete and I think it is an added bonus that he is a local lad that knows the expectations of our club.”
Hawks’ fans would have also noticed, Defensemen, Marcus Bradley icing with the Redhawks since before Christmas. Alongside Roman Cathcart, Marcus joins us on a 2 way with the Basingstoke Bison until the end of the season, allowing Marcus to add valuable ice time at NIHL1 level while still training and playing with the Bison when required.
Head Coach Ben Paynter commented,
“Marcus came to us highly recommended and impressed with his mature play and calm presence on the ice. He fits in well with the group, competes well and has grown in confidence over the last 2 months which has been bolstered by his recent international duty with the GB20s squad. He adds good depth to our D core, and I’m pleased to be able to add him on a 2 way”
Lastly, the club are pleased to announce the signing of Carl Etuazim from Haringey, on 2 ways. The 17-year-old has been training with the Redhawks alongside his duties with Haringey U19s and Haringey Huskies and has impressed with his work rate, vision and ability to make good offensive plays.
Head Coach Ben Paynter commented,
“Carl has been skating with us most of the year and has really impressed with his great attitude, good play making prowess as well as his ability to understand new systems and drills quickly. He will continue to skate with us for the rest of the year, and we are hoping to have him in some fixtures in the near future. Carl joins Dylan Philips on 2-way contracts between the Redhawks and Huskies in a partnership that benefits both the clubs and the players.”
