Dix Makes the Switch from Essex for Streatham
Streatham IHC are delighted to announce the signing of American Defenceman, Dylan Dix for the 2025/26 Season.

The left-handed, 27-year-old joins after a season with the Chelmsford Chieftains where he had his first taste of British Ice Hockey while managing to win the NIHL1 South Division Britton Cup.
Dix who stands at 6’2” spent most of his career in the U.S. with the most recent team being the University of Utah in the ACHA, across his 4 seasons in Utah, he wore a letter for 3 seasons while notching 66 points and 218 penalty minutes.
These numbers caught the attention of the Chelmsford Chieftains, where he spent the 24/25 season, tallying 29 point and 58 penalty minutes in 29 games from the blue line. His performances also caught the eye of not only the Redhawks coaching staff but of his peers around the league, leading to Dix being named in the NIHL1 All-star team.
Dix Commented:
“I’m really looking forward to joining the Redhawks! When Paynter reached out after the season and told me more about the organisation and his plan for the team, Streatham seemed like a great fit for me! I’m looking forward to meeting the rest of the guys and contribution to the group next season.”
Coach Paynts Commented:
“From the first time we played again Chelmsford last year I knew Dylan was the sort of player that would fit right in with how I want us to play as a group. He is a physical no-nonsense defenceman that wants to play the body, battle and compete. He was difficult to play against and makes forwards nights tough all night. I felt we lacked some bite in our game last year and I believe Dylan can help address that issue. On top of his physicality, he is really good on the puck, he makes heads up plays, looks to play north and has a heavy shot from the blue line. I’m convinced he will be a big hit with the supporters on the High Road and I can’t wait to see him in red.”
