Brittle back for more!

Streatham IHC are delighted to announce the return of Luke Brittle for the 24/25 season.

The Telford junior is back for his 3rd year with the club and the first where he will begin the season as a Redhawk. The right handed forward first appeared on the High Road back in 2019 when he joined the squad part way through the covid shortened season notching 18 points in only 7 games. Luke then took some time out of hockey before his return to London early last season that saw him return to the Redhawk line up after 3 years away from the sport. It seems he did not miss a beat returning with 38 points in 23 games! 

Luke commented on his return, 

“Hi guys! Really excited to be back for one more season at the High Road. Hoping we can build on the success we had last year with a couple of solid additions. I did intend to only play one year, but the boys & the atmosphere is so good I just couldn’t say no to Paynts when he called me. On a personal level I’ll be hoping & expecting to improve, it’s been great getting back into the game but I know I can deliver more, can’t wait for the season!

Coach Paynts commented, 

“Having a player like Brits return last season was massive for us. He showed his class on the ice with his performances and production and that’s after 3 years away from the game, so I can’t wait to see how he builds on that with a year under his belt and a full summer to prepare! He has expressed to me that he knows he has more and I can’t wait to see it. He is smart, moves the puck well and can put the puck in the net. He is from a proper hockey family so understands what it takes to win and I believe that’s why he has had so much success across his career. On top of his offensive upside on the ice he is a great character to have around and really makes coming to the rink in them dark winter months fun and enjoyable. Bringing him back for another year was critical for me to build a team to compete and have success!”
