Paynter returns for third season as Head Coach
Streatham IHC are delighted to announce that Ben Paynter will return to the club for the 2024/25 season as Player Head Coach.
Paynter joined the Club as a player in 2017 under Jeremy Cornish before a year away in the 2018/19 season with Bracknell. He then returned in 2019 and has been an ever present on the High Road since. Paynter took on the Coaching reigns from Michael Farn at the start of the 2022/23 season where the club secured the League and Play off titles. Paynter’s coaching role continued into the 2023/24 season where the club has won the League title, Southern Cup and also the Britton Cup with the Play Off title and National final still up for grabs!
General manager Graham D’anger had the following to say,
“It gives me great pleasure to announce that Head coach Ben Paynter is returning for a third season.
I would like to thank Ben for all the tireless work he has put in again this season on and off the ice and for putting together a fantastic group of players and keeping the family ethos of the club going.
I’m already excited about next season and hopefully we can continue to build on what we have achieved over the last few seasons.”
Paynter commented,
“When asked to return next season for me it was a no brainer. We have had a great few seasons and I’m determined to continue that success. We have a great core here in Streatham and I’m hoping to keep that together going into next season. The support I have from Graham and Dawn is fantastic and there aren’t many clubs around that look after the boys as well as they do. There are lots of great people that make up this club from back room staff, volunteers and of course our supporters, it really is a great place to play.
Planning has started in the background for next season but for now we keep our focus on the play offs and National final in Coventry and hopefully bring some more silverware back to the highroad.”
Paynter will return in his #14 Jersey and own and loan details will be announced later in the off season.
