Team style-maker gets set for more of the...

Streatham IHC are delighted to announce the return of netminder Nate Gregory to the squad for 2022/23. The 24 year old will ice at the High Road for a fifth season after playing his part in the clubs stunning season last year. The Woking born stopper shared duties with Tom Annetts from last year between the pipes and impressed in his performances when he steps onto the ice.

Nate commented that...
“I’ve been at Streatham for the past five years now so it’s slowly becoming my second home, as soon as Paynts got in contact with me It was a easy decision for me, such a great group of guys to play with and the best fans in the league. It was a no brainier for me. I’m excited to earn myself a more key role in the team and hopefully bring some more trophies back to Streatham!”

Gregory learnt his trade in Bracknell with the junior teams there, before a spell in Canada in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. He returned to the UK and joined Wightlink Raiders in 2016, before eventually being signed in South London by then Coach Jeremy Cornish in 2017/18. Gregory adds to a roster that already includes, Scott Bailey, Jordan Gregory, Ziggy Beesley, James Warman, Vanya Antonov, Ryan Watt and Player Coach Ben Paynter.

Coach Ben himself is pleased to complete his goal tending set up ahead of the new season.
“Bringing Nate back was a no brainer for me. He is a goalie that is able to jump in the net and provide a solid performance when required. This was evident last season when we went to Bristol short benched and Nate stood on his head and won us the game. That win was critical for us to clinch the league title when we did.

I have had a couple of conversations with Nate over the last couple of weeks and he is keen to push for more minutes this coming season. I am looking forward to see what he brings in September and hope he is challenging for the start every week.”

To own and loan Nate Gregory’s Streatham jerseys this season please email streatham1972@yahoo.co.uk. They cost £100 for either the home or away jersey and you get to add a message to the back of the jersey and keep it at the end of the season – we will wash out any game stains (unless you want them left on).
