Experienced blueliner Waller heads to High Road
Streatham IHC are delighted to announce the signing of former GB junior international Sam Waller to the team for the 2021/22 season.
The highly experienced and talented defenceman joins our blueline after a long career in the game, that saw him win the EPL Play-Offs twice.
Sam returns from a self imposed break from the game and last iced with Guildford Flames in the 2016/17 season. Born in Swindon, he grew up playing for his home town club and represented GB up to under 20 level.
"I’m really excited about coming back and playing for Streatham"
said the blueliner, who will wear our number 37 jersey.
"I’ve been wanting to get back on the ice playing again for quite a while now and I’m really excited that it’s all coming together. I spent 20 years or so in the sport and after a couple years out of the game I’ve really missed it and I’m looking forward to the challenge a new season and a new club brings."
Waller joins Player Coach Michael Farn, James Warman, Andrew Cook and Jordan Gregory on our blue line this year, with another roster addition still to be announced.
"I’m delighted to have been able to get Waller to confirm to get the skates laced up and back on the ice."
said Coach Farn.
"He skated with us recently and you wouldn’t of thought he’d had such a long time away from the game. You could see his quality straight away and he’s got a really desire to get back playing and helping us compete for silverware this year. He’s going to be a big part of our D core and is a huge boost to our roster."

Sam Waller's game worn #37 home, away and warm up jerseys are all available through our popular own and loan scheme. You can get your name or message on the back of his jersey(s) throughout the season and then you get to keep it once the season is done. We will wash out any game stains before you get hold of it (unless you prefer otherwise) so it really is a great offer.
To keep it fair, we ask that you email our management stating which of Sam's jerseys you are interested in (home/away/warm up) and if we have multiple bids then we will draw names out of a hat. Jerseys are £100 and you can register interest by emailing: streatham1972@yahoo.co.uk
