Things Are Warman up on the High Road

The Streatham Redhawks are pleased to welcome back James Warman for the 26/27 season!

Fresh off of celebrating his testimonial season, James returns for his 12th season on the High Road, where he is very much both part of the furniture and the core of the team.

A product of the Telford Junior system, James made his way south in 2012 joining up with Bristol, with a stint in Cardiff before finally landing in SW16 where he has spent 11 of the last 12 seasons with Streatham.

Warman is excited to be returning and had the following to say:

“It’s great to be back at Streatham for another season, especially after a year that included both a National Playoff Championship and my testimonial.

It’s been an honour to represent the club for 11 years. Going into last season I thought it could be my last year playing but last season reminded me of how special the club is and how much fun it is to be a RedHawk - with a great sense of community around the club which was fully on display at Sheffield and at the testimonial - so in the end it was an easy decision to return for another year.

This team keeps improving year after year and we’ve built a really close-knit group that makes Streatham a fantastic place to play. I’m excited to be back and looking forward to competing for every trophy available again this season!”

James is very much every coach’s dream signing, a hard-working reliable work horse at the heart of the defence. Something 4 consecutive coaches have now thought which has seen James pull on a Streatham jersey 360 times. Defensively responsible but also able to jump in and pinch at the blue line to create scoring chances while also converting himself, for a career total of 21 goals and 96 assists in Streatham colours. But James is probably best known for the physical edge to his game, delivering bone crunching open ice hits that get the fans cheering.

Coach Paynter is looking forward to the return of Warman to the team and added:

“This club wouldn’t be the same without Warms, he has been here a long time and been a huge part of all the success we have had. He celebrated his testimonial this summer and that shows how loyal and committed to the club he has been for over a decade. He is reliable, plays a physical game and goes about his job quietly and efficiently. He does the basics well and is a great foundation to build a D core from.”

Warman’s jerseys will be available to own and loan, if interested please email ownloanshirts@yahoo.com. Each jersey is priced at £125 and will be presented to the sponsor at the end of the season. Jerseys will be available on a first come first service basis.
