Bairdys Back!
The Streatham RedHawks are pleased to announce the return of Brendan Baird for the 26/27 season.

The 30-year-old 5’ 9” product of the Bracknell Bees academy is no stranger to fans on the High Road. Having enjoyed 2 stints with the club previously. Baird made his senior debut for the Bracknell Hornets in 2012. Before splitting his time between Bracknell, Basingstoke and the Isle of Wight. With stops on the High Road in 2017 and 2024.
Brendan is delighted to be back for another season on the High Road
“I’m delighted to be returning to the team for another season. I’m excited to get started in September and to be back alongside the players, staff, and supporters. The fans are incredible, and their passion and support make a huge difference, so I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again and getting the season underway.”
Baird is a solid reliable presence on the back end, who skates and back checks well. And rarely will be found out of position, a defenceman who knows how to support his net minder and looks to clear the crease. He’s also an offence generator, able to transition play from defensive to offensive in a few moves, able to start and end plays moving through at each stage. His finishing and generation abilities on his last stint saw him net 7 goals and 19 assists for 26 points on the season in a career best year in senior hockey.
Coach Paynter is pleased to have a player of such high calibre and experience back on the High Road
“Brendan is no stranger to how we play the game from his previous stints in Streatham; he has a high compete level, is committed to giving his best and buying into what we are trying to do. He has a great first pass and adds intensity and abrasiveness in the corners. He brings with him national league experience and I hope he can translate that into some big performances in big moments on the High Road.“
Baird’s jerseys will be available to own and loan, if interested please email ownloanshirts@yahoo.com. Each jersey is priced at £125 and will be presented to the sponsor at the end of the season. Jerseys will be available on a first come first served basis.
