Signings Hit the Perfect Pitchley as JJ Signs on for Another Season!

Zara Gentles • June 28, 2026

The Streatham RedHawks are pleased to announce the return of JJ Pitchley for the 2026/27 season!

The 6ft Romford born product of the Raiders and Bracknell academy systems, made his debut for the Bracknell Hornets in the old ENL. This and his season in Romford after caught the eye of The Dallas Snipers of the WSHL where he spent a season showing his potential racking up 32 points in American Junior hockey. His return to UK hockey would see JJ ice for Bracknell, Slough, Basingstoke, and Romford. Before arriving here on the High Road back in 2023

JJ is eager to get going again after what he felt was a season where his impact was limited by a mid-season injury.

“It’s great to be back on the High Road! After the success we had as a team last season, which I missed out of being a part of due to my son arriving, along with an injury after Christmas, it feels like I’ve had an extended break and I’m more eager than ever to get back on the ice and retain our silverware!

September is fast approaching, and I look forward to seeing you all pack out the High Road again next season!”

Physicality and agitation, like Watty a player fans of opposition teams hate, but would love if they had him on the roster. JJ Plays an energetic bang and crash power forward style of hockey. Always happy to play the physical game and finish his checks, while also finding ways to use that physicality to get under an opponent’s skin drawing penalties. Around the net at both ends JJ uses his frame to create space and screen to make chances happen. JJ came to Streatham in 2023 with the goal of winning trophies and has achieved that netting 31 goals and 44 assists for 75 points in his time as RedHawk.

Coach Paynter believes Pitchley has all the tools and the hunger to dominate the division this season

“JJ has the skillset to be one of the best offensive forwards in this division, he skates well, has a great shot and is a big physical presence. This year I’m looking for JJ to really start firing offensively and showing how good he can be. He missed out on out double win in Sheffield last term due to family commitments and I have no doubt that will make him hungrier than ever to get his hands on some silverware.”

JJ’s jerseys will be available to own and loan, if interested please email ownloanshirts@yahoo.com. Each jersey is priced at £125 and will be presented to the sponsor at the end of the season. Jerseys will be available on a first come first served basis.
