Seven up for Warms

Streatham IHC are delighted to welcome back James Warman for his seventh full season with the club.

The 27-year-old former GB junior international has made 241 appearances in our colours scoring 15 goals and notching 47 assists in that time. Known for his core strength, stay at home play and chiselled good looks, Warman played in the very first game at the new Streatham rink and has become a key component of every squad since.

On his return he said:

“I am very happy to re-sign with Streatham for another season. It is my local club and I wouldn’t want to be playing my hockey anywhere else.

“I have been at Streatham for six seasons in total now, all of which have been fun, but it was particularly enjoyable last year to enjoy the success we had and share it with a great group of guys.

“It was a special moment bringing some well-deserved silverware to the club after a long wait. At the same time, it was such a shame that the season ended prematurely, we had fantastic momentum going into the post-season.

“After a summer spent in lockdown I can’t wait to be able to get back on the ice and playing again. Last year we had a great chemistry in the room and I’m looking forward to replicating that team spirit.

“Next season, I am sure we will pick up right from where we left off. I believe Farny will put together another strong team and we will be looking to add more trophies to the collection next season.”

Warman adds to a roster that already includes Damien King, Jordan Gregory, Vanya Antonov, Adam Wood, Ryan Watt and Ben Paynter plus Player Coach Michael Farn.

Farn himself is pleased to have his fellow blue liner signed up for another year.

“Warms is one of the top D men in the league and has been a consistent performer on the High road for several years. Having played for a number of coaches and being a regular returnee tells you how highly regarded he is.

“He is in great physical shape and is a true competitor on the ice. He’s a no nonsense D man who can also join the rush when called upon. I’m glad he’s committed to patrolling the blue line with us again.”

To own and loan James Warman’s Streatham jerseys this season please email streatham1972@yahoo.co.uk . They cost £100 for either the home or away jersey and you get to add a message to the back of the jersey and keep it at the end of the season – we will wash out any game stains (unless you want them left on).
